Every day more than 150 million people view the Facebook Stories. Now is the best time to stick the hammer and monetize from Facebook Stories by introducing ads.
Facebook pointed out that Instagram Stories had similar daily viewership when ad testing began on the platform. So now maybe the right time to test advertisements on Facebook. Facebook has started the ad testing in US, Mexico, and Brazil.
According to Chris Cox, who heads Facebook’s family of apps group, Facebook estimates that the Facebook stories will overtake sharing on the news feed around next year some time.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, mentioned, “One of the interesting opportunities and challenges over the coming years will be making sure that ads are as good in Stories as they are in feeds. If we don’t do this well, then as more sharing shifts to Stories, that could hurt our business. But there’s upside real upside here, too, if we do a good job. We’re leading the way here with Instagram, and the results so far are promising, both on product quality and business performance.”
The ads that are tested on Facebook are similar to Instagram’s ads. It is worthy to note that Instagram is also owned by Facebook itself. These stories ads have a full screen format which is different from the news feed ads.
Facebook is testing the ads with a small and limited number of businesses. In the coming months, the platform plans to expand the feature to more brands in more countries. So Hong Kong businesses should patiently wait for this new feature to market their brands.
The most popular social media platform is also planning to provide more and deeper metrics to brands that are marketing on its platform.
